JBC Ensemble and BBC Sanctuary Choir

JBC ENSEMBLE

The JBC Ensemble is a small choir of approximately 20 members that does not mind singing and praising God through song and praise.

The choir has performed throughout the metropolitan area spreading the Good News in song.

The choir loves to sing songs such as: “Precious Lord”,” Move on Up A Little Higher” and “Lord Help Me to Hold Out.”

Choir Musicians: Deacon Larry Carr, Minister of Music and Choir Director and Organist/Pianist; Cornelius Hannon - Drummer, Letasha Edwards - Drummer; Paul Peterson - Bass Guitarist.

Choir Members: Deacon Larry Carr, Karen Brandon, Bobby Sullivan, Reverend Dollie Edwards, Letasha Edwards, Reverend Reginald Hatcher, Deacon Larry Jones, Patricia Hamm, Anthony Pinkney and Bobby Waller.

Booking Manager: Deacon Larry Carr is the choir Booking Manager. If you would like to have the JBC Ensemble, Buffalo Baptist Church, to perform at your church or an event, please contact Deacon Larry Carr at (301) 442-5582. No church is too large or too small for the JBC Ensemble to sing. The choir sings various types of songs from contemporary gospel, southern gospel, traditional gospel, and quartet. The JBC Ensemble has performed and given concerts at the following events: Mount Rainier Day, Hyattsville Community Center – Black History Program, Exodus Baptist Church, Summer in the Park for Prince Georges’ County just to name a few. 

How To Become A Choir Member?

You do not have to be a member of the Baptist Church to sing in the choir, but you must attend regular choir rehearsal which begin at 7 p.m.

BBC SANCTUARY CHOIR

On Monday, November 16, 2015, the BBC Sanctuary Choir was organized to have the women of the church to sing as a “women’s choir.” Apostle Doris Cox joined the church and noticed that there was a "male chorus" but not a “women’s choir.” She asked Bishop John B. McIntyre, Pastor, permission to start a women’s choir. He said yes and the BBC Sanctuary Choir made their first appearance on Sunday, November 22, 2015. The BBC Sanctuary Choir members marched into the Sanctuary dressed in red and black. Apostle Cox led the very first song “Hide Behind the Mountain.”
