Bishop John B. McIntyre became the elected Pastor of the Buffalo Baptist Church on March 2, 2014. Bishop McIntyre and First Lady Joyce S. McIntyre both have a friendly personality and really know what the Lord will do if you trust in Him. 

Bishop McIntyre was formerly the Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church located in Cumberland, Maryland for over 24 years before becoming the 4th Pastor of Buffalo Baptist Church.

Bishop McIntyre is a native Washingtonian and he is the oldest of seven children of the late John H. McIntyre and Deaconess Carrie L. McIntyre.

First Lady Joyce S. McIntyre

First Lady Joyce McIntyre is the devoted wife of the pastor of Buffalo Baptist Church, Bishop John B. McIntyre.

Lady Joyce strives to be an example of a virtuous woman - a woman who is yielded to God in every area of her life. She has a heart for people and is a committed prayer warrior. She is a quiet storm; a woman of grace and great strength who fears God and loves His people. More importantly, she is a child of God and loves worshipping and praising the Lord for who He is, for His goodness and for His mercy.

Her favorite bible verse is "…Those who hope in the Lord shall renew their strength. They will soar with wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31.

Biography

Bishop McIntyre is maximizing and excelling in what God has led him to do. He has raised the bar for vision, leadership, courage, civic responsibility and compassion to new heights. 

Bishop McIntyre graduated from Washington Technical Institute and Federal City College earning undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Nursing Science. After 33 years at St. Elizabeth Hospital he retired as a Psychiatric Registered Nurse. He received his Doctorate of Divinity degree from Wilbur H. Waters School of Religion and a Doctorate of Ministry in Christian Counseling from Andersonville Baptist Seminary. August 2005, he was consecrated "Bishop" by the Bishops' College of The Lord's Churches, Fellowships and Ministries International, Inc. 

Bishop McIntyre is a member of many prestigious professional counseling organizations including the American Association of Christian Counselors. 

Bishop McIntyre is the proud father of eight children and grandparents of twenty-plus.

After 23 years of faithful service to Ebenezer Full Gospel Baptist Church, Cumberland, Maryland, Bishop McIntyre retired from the position of Pastor. On November 10, 2012, he was elevated to Emeritus status by the congregation of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
